Glitter or not gitter?

          As much as I love glitter once in a while, I would much prefer to wear simple flat colours. 

When do you change your nail polish?

          I change my nail polish every 3-4 days.

Darks or Brights?

          I usually wear more dark neutral colours, just because they tend to go with more things.

What are you currently wearing?

          I am currently wearing China Glazes Re-Fresh Mint (surprise surprise :P)

Matte nails - in or out?

          In! I love putting on a glitter/shimmery nail polish, and topping it off with a matte top coat. 

French Manicure - yes or no?

          I have never been a big fan of french manicures, and don’t think I ever will. Just to plain and boring for me.

What is your favourite spring colour? 

I was looking through my nail polishes, and realized that I really don’t have anything like OPI’s cajun shrimp! While most my collection are cool-toned, neutrals, this is a bright vibrant colour. After a long winter, wearing dark murky colours, you definitely need a pop colour to liven up your look, and Cajun Shrimp is perfect for that! Both the colour and formulation are perfect, and dries really quickly (even without my Sally Hansen Insta-Dry top coat). Definitely a colour to check out! :)

What is your favourite fall colour?


*China Glazes Ingrid, OPI’s Ski Teal We Drop*

These two colours are lovely for the crisp, cooler months of fall, when you want something a little darker. OPI’s Ski Teal We Drop is a rich, creamy, dark blue from the Switzerland collection. Both the colour pay-off, and the formulation are wonderful (opaque after only 1 coat). Definitely a colour to check out!

China Glazes Ingrid, is warm, creamy brown colour, with a little bit of a gold shimmer. The gold shimmer, while not being over-powering, is the perfect amount of pazzaz.

What is your favourite summer colour?

China Glaze - Re-Fresh Mint


Re-Fresh Mint is one of my all time favourite colours! If I don’t know what to wear, I will most likely reach for this colour! It is the perfect light summery mint green colour, and looks great if you have a tan, or you are as pale as the moon (which makes it great for me in the dead of winter). As you can see I have very pale skin, and this colour kind of illuminates it (but in a good way). The formula can be a tad tricky to work with (I am wearing 2 coats). It can be a little gloppy, so using thiner coats might be a better idea. The off formula can definitely be looked over, because the colour is gorgeous!! :)

This is my most reached for colour during the winter months (and sometimes during the summer). This colour can sometimes be hard to work with, but the colour payoff is wonderful!!  Essie - Bordeaux - Bordeaux is a lovely rich red wine colour. I actually just bought this colour a couple weeks ago. But it will be a gorgeous colour to pull out during the holiday season!!

Sally Hansen - Yellow Kitty


Yellow Kitty is a nice pale yellow colour perfect for spring, and summer! When there isn’t a lot of lighting the colour does tend to look more mustardy, but looks lovely in the sun. The unfortunate thing is that you need multiple coats to get the colour in the bottle. I am wearing 3 coats, but I realized after I put my top coat on that I could have used a 4th or possibly even a 5th. 

I have been on the hunt for a nice pastel yellow colour, and really had my eye on Revlon’s Buttercup, but sadly it is only out in the states right now :( I heard Buttercup is very opaque even after 1 coat (and for a yellow pastel colour is amazing!!) So is it worth it to spend the time using all those coats for this colour?? I think so, the colour is really pretty and dries fairly quickly. I’m hoping because it takes a lot of coats I will go through this bottle pretty quickly and by the time I am done Revlon’s Buttercup will have made its way to Canada :)

Nail Polish Obsession Tag!! 

What’s your favourite nail polish company?


OPI!!! This is a hard one for me! OPI is a really close with China Glaze, with Essie coming in pretty close after (though I only have a few, I love all of them). I chose OPI mainly because of the colour selection. They have every possible shade you could ever imagine, and come out with some nice collections (personally really excited for the up-coming Spiderman collection). OPI also has a really nice formula for the most part (cough gargantuan green grape cough).
